My name is Kerry Bruce. I am a Computer Information Systems Instructor at Central New Mexico Community College. I created Mr. Bruce’s Hackerspace as a way for my students to explore the world of computers/technology in a fun, cost-effective manner. We use inexpensive development boards like the Raspberry Pi and PCDuino to build interesting projects that spark the imagination and help to increase our understanding of computer systems. I created this website to share our passion and interests with others who share our love for computers, technology, and continued learning. Welcome, I hope you enjoy.
For clarity purposes only. We use the Internet Users’ Glossary (RFC1392) definition of a Hacker to be a person who delights in having an intimate understanding of the internal workings of a system, computers and computer networks in particular. Additionally, from the Oxford Dictionary, we define a Hackerspace as a place in which people with an interest in computing or technology can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge.
