Automate the Boring Stuff with Python by Al Sweigart

I use this book in my Internet of Things (IoT) course to introduce and build python skills.  The 2nd edition was just released about a year ago now.  I like this book because it teaches the basic of programing logic in python in a straight forward and meaningful way.  I assign the chapters as homework to build python skills that we use in completing our IoT projects in class.  

Al has created a Udemy.com course that students can purchase on their own if they so desire.  Many of the chapters we use in class (10-ish) have videos that are free to view on YouTube.  The book has links to these videos and I link to them in the Assignments in my course for quick easy access to additional/alternative learning methodologies.
